Before and After: A Boho Chic & Midcentury lounge
Today we bring you the salon transformation from the house of Aniko, American of adoption although of Hungarian origin owns the blog place of my taste, a place where she shows us her great love for design, photography and crafts among other things.
BEFORE
With two children at home the family room of Aniko had become, over the years, a large playground where dinosaurs and buildings coexisted with the sofa, TV and other belongings of the room. And although the space was guessed very vivid and real, it was not the best letter of introduction for a space that was just on the other side of the main entrance door.

Now that the children were a little older and could do without some toys, it was time to donate some of them and relocate the rest to free space and give it the importance it deserved. The first step was to vacate the space not only of toys but also of furniture, for this Aniko chose to sell each and every one of the pieces of the room which allowed her to have a larger budget for the new furniture she had planned to place. Literally, he had the opportunity to start creating with an authentic blank canvas.

AFTER
And here we have the sensational result. In the words of the designer herself "the first intention was to create a living room style boho chic with a multitude of layers and textures and a funny spirit, but as the project progressed the space evolved into something that at first I had not visualized."
Place of my taste
And while it is true that we can appreciate certain characteristic details of the style boho chic as the mixture of textiles, the use of intense colors and the use of plants, other elements have been incorporated that give it a retro feel and that evokes the aesthetics mid-century so popular today. For this his allies were a few new pieces like the camel leather sofa, inspired by the aesthetics of the 50s, and other vintage findings such as the mid-century danish chair that reupholstered in an intense blue color, and a worn-out coffee table. center.
The rest of the elements remained more faithful to aesthetics boho chic that initially sought to achieve: the rattan footrest with an updated yellow cushion, the wooden support for the plants, the superimposition of a jute rug with another more fluffy Beni Ourain, ...
When all the pieces of furniture and accessories were in their final place, there was only to find something to decorate the walls, a couple of watercolors of abstract design in harmony with the colors chosen for the rest of the room were the perfect complement.
We leave you with the rest of the photos of the space so that you can get an idea of the final result:
