We show you a magnificent renovation and transformation of a 40 square meter apartment. It is located in La Barceloneta, Barcelona; close to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It was redesigned by architects Egue and Seta for a couple, who really enjoy the beach during the summer months.
To achieve this stupendous transformation, the optimization of spaces and the improvement of natural lighting in each of its environments were taken into account. Likewise, another detail that adds to this incredible result is the proper use of textures and colors that contribute to achieving a very cozy and relaxing home. Also, the designers used the perfect mix of rustic and contemporary materials. As part of the decoration, plants were added in different areas of the house, thus creating a garden effect.
The use of blue on the walls is essential in decoration, as it is the perfect color to attract tranquility to each of the environments. In this way harmony with the exterior landscape is achieved. The social area is open and includes living room, dining room and kitchen. They are very well organized.
Also, we can see that throughout the apartment a Catalan vaulted ceiling design and black beams that contribute to a unique home.
Living room
To one side is the living room area where this beautiful painting by David Bowie stands out on the gray two-piece sofa. In this area, the type of floor covering stands out, different from the oak parquet that predominates in the space. Which is also observed in the kitchen area with traditional style mosaics. Another aspect that we cannot pass is the set of coffee tables with a circular surface that help to balance this beautiful environment. The beautiful large bottles in the center add joy to the space.
Dinning room
The focal point of all this shared space is the dining area. It is located in the central area with a large pendant lamp with a metallic look that helps to give an industrial touch to the space as well as the other metallic details painted in black.
Kitchen room
Kitchen area includes lower cabinets in white with wood top. It is L-shaped. One part includes the wall with exposed bricks that add texture and warmth to the room. While the other area shows three rows of wooden shelves with linear lighting in each of the rows.
Bedroom
The bedroom was decorated in mainly sand tones. And as secondary tones blue and white. In the bedroom lighting a circular pendant lamp with a lot of texture is added and also linear lights on the upper part of the headboard of the bed. As a complement, a round lamp is included on the surface of the headboard, maintaining a coordinated space through the use of similar shapes.
As part of the bedroom division, a beautiful plant is included that helps to have more privacy. This part of the bedroom does not have walls, but rather blinds and a wardrobe as a room divider.
One of the bedroom walls is also blue, thus keeping the home decorated in a unified way. Another detail that stands out is the window that allows you to view the shower area of the bathroom.
Venetian blinds were added to each of the windows, creating a clean and modern look to the bedroom.
The bedroom, despite having walls painted in cold colors, looks very cozy. The mix of materials such as exposed brick, lush sand-colored carpet, ceiling pattern and textiles help to achieve this attribute. The headboard design is great, as it includes nightstands and a surface to decorate.
Bath
In this beautiful bathroom the color white predominates, especially in the area of the walls with exposed brick. The large mirror and shower screens help make the space look more spacious and airy. As we can see, the materials and colors used are similar to those used in the rest of the apartment.
