Puce Apartment of the Iya Turabelidze Studio in Kiev

Welcome to the house you want to return to after a long day of work, Puce Apartment it is a minimalist space; 70 square meters overlooking the skyline of Kiev, Ukraine; designed by Iya Turabelidze. This apartment is an image, a metaphor for a change of mental perspective. A change from the noise and speed of everyday life to a clean and logical being. Simple, but complete and deep, like a glass of red wine.

This project is a reflection of a client's dream of starting a new life in a space where the nice palette of colors, and the delicate game of fabrics and materials, invite you to stay. The objective was to maximize the space and, as such, the previous programming was completely eliminated. Wanted a open space, free circulation, and nothing overloaded with furniture or walls.

With the new distribution, a main space is obtained that brings together different parts of the program in a unique room of generous dimensions and abundant natural light. Instead, the spaces are separated only with glass partitions and a hidden wardrobe system. The hidden doors and sockets built into the white walls, they also create the illusion of a wide space.

The large panoramic windows provide a perspective of the vivid and gleaming green hills of Kiev and, as a result of the external intensity of the colors of green juice. The interior color palette is closely related to one of the owner's passions: the world of wine. So pink and burgundy are the predominant tones, incorporated in the furniture in the dining room Gubi chairs and in the kitchen furniture. This balance between cold and warm makes space a Harmonious and sophisticated interior.

The architecture is solved in a simple way, with a white envelope, This creates a neutral background on which to add Iconic design pieces and color strokes. Pavement of natural wood in spike; except in the kitchen and corridor area, where the micro cement has been used to make the surface more practical; and bespoke support furniture.

An enclosure of glass doors, with opening in a turning point, separates the main space of the bedroom. Likewise, the curtains grant the privacy that this space requires. With a soft upholstered headboard and gray bedding, the room invites you to escape and relax. The design presents a language similar to the rest of the house, and the Space configuration is plotted in continuity with the room. It is a stay of simple furniture and comfortable dimensions. In addition, without losing sight of the functional side, it has an integrated bathroom and a dressing room with floor to ceiling cabinets and smooth fronts.

The doors are hidden from view, when integrating completely in the wall, like the one that gives access to the toilet. In this bathroom, it has been decorated with pieces of marble and the main bathroom, covered with azulejos from Portugal. A nod to the owner's favorite colors.
