Today we want to tell you about the Villa Malena project, a resort located in Sitges in which UTV Thermo-D from Lunawood has been used, the heat-treated wood brand that is exclusively distributed in our country by the company Gabarró Hermanos, a national leader in distribution of sawn wood, wood, vinyl, laminate or acrylic stone floors.

The resort has been designed by 314 BCN Estudio de Arquitectura e Interiorismo and has been carried out by Javi García.

Lunawood UTV Thermo-D tongue and groove

Those responsible for the design have chosen Lunawood’s tongue and groove UTV Thermo-D to cover the exterior facades of this hotel complex. This heat-treated wood product, produced sustainably by natural methods such as heat and steam, is specifically designed for exterior solutions and can be seen in Gabarró’s 2020 Wood and Exterior Products Catalog.

Its manufacturing process makes this material exceptional for outdoor applications, as it is shown as a dimensionally stable product, resistant to decomposition and made without toxic products. To all this we must add that it is an easy product to machine and install.

The warmth offered by wood finishes, combined with creative architectural design features such as high ceilings, exposed industrial pipes, and panoramic windows, offering spectacular forest views offer a unique and organic experience. A total of seven rooms, 3 on the top floor and 4 on the ground floor that inspire creativity.

The recreational spaces in this villa are all open plan and connected to the outdoors, allowing for a pleasant indoor-outdoor flow. A complex built to facilitate a particular lifestyle, based on a modern design, which combines comfort and functionality with the Respect for the enviroment.
